Air Travel
Most visitors arrive by air via Taniti’s small airport, which handles small jets and propeller planes. Expansion is underway to welcome larger aircraft in the near future.
Sea Travel
Once per week, a cruise ship docks overnight in Yellow Leaf Bay, offering tourists a glimpse of island life and access to local attractions.
Getting Around the Island
Public Buses
Reliable and affordable routes in Taniti City (5 a.m.–11 p.m.), plus private buses serving longer routes across the island.
Taxis & Car Rentals
Taxis are readily available in Taniti City. Visitors can also rent cars near the airport to explore the island at their own pace.
Biking & Walking
Flat, walkable Taniti City makes exploring on foot easy. Bike rentals are also popular, with helmets required by law.
